Equine Sports Massage Therapy Prevention Plan
If you could improve your horse's performance and his overall well-being, wouldn't you schedule a massage for him today?
A prevention plan depends upon:
- Amount of time a condition has existed (chronic or acute)
- Age of the horse
- Disposition of the horse
- Workload of the horse
Horses at a very high level of competition:
- Week 1 3 massages
- Week 2 2 massages
- Week 3 1 massage
- After week 3, should receive 1 massage per week
Horses that compete on a regular basis:
- 1 massage every two weeks
Horses that compete occasionally:
- 1 massage every two weeks for six weeks and then as needed
Horses that are used for pleasure riding or very light competition:
