Dark Diamond (Jewel)
1990 Trakehner mare
When we saw Dark Diamond, a.k.a., Jewel, out in the field in 2002, we knew she was the mare for us. The expression and intelligence in her eyes said it all.
She's a 17 hand Trakehner who spent most of her life fox hunting, eventually becoming the Master's mount.
After purchasing her, we went on the hunt for a suitable stallion to breed her to. We personally knew of two Wallstreet Kid geldings out of a Thoroughbred mare who are phenomenal movers with great personalities, so we decided to take a look at him. Wallstreet Kid's conformation, character, and personality seemed to be quite the compliment to Jewel, so we arranged a breeding with him. Wallstreet's Diamond Chip is the result of that matching. We couldn't have asked for anything nicer!
Jewel's 2003 breeding was to a new young Thoroughbred stallion, Fun and Fancy Free (by Bit of Class, out of Bally's Image), owned by Joan Fox Miller of Warrenton, VA. Bit of Class was the very successful conformation hunter owned by Joan Fox Miller and Bally's Image is out of Bally Cor, Tad Coffin's Olympic three-day event mount. Bally Cor was entered into eventing's Hall of Fame in 2003. This match had sport horse written all over it and Diamond's Fancy was the result.
Chip is such an outstanding individual. His temperament and movement are so well suited for today's competitor. We bred Jewel back to Wallstreet Kid for a 2005 foal and Wallstreet 2nd Edition (Wally) is the result. He is phenominal. We presented Jewel and Wally at the Oldenburg/ISR inspection in September 2005. Jewel is now in the pre-mare book (since we don't have a pedigree) and Wally is registered ISR.
We gave Jewel a year off. She is in foal to Romantic Star, an elite Hanoverian, for a 2007 foal. We are looking forward to seeing this match. He is an outstanding individual.
Below are some pictures of Jewel when she was a Master's mount, thanks to her former owner.
